SECOND PHASE TEACHING PRACTICE - WEEKLY REFLECTION 2
DAY 6

Later, the headmistress informed us that we needed to shift our staffroom to the workshop room, which had already been assigned to us earlier. Though the sudden change required some adjustment, it also gave us a chance to reorganize our space and settle into a more comfortable working environment.
In the sixth period, I handled my regular class in 8C. The class went well, and I felt more confident in managing the students and delivering the lesson. During the seventh period, I took the Gotech class for students of 8A and 8B. Today, I introduced memory-challenge games and conducted story narration based on a picture. The students actively participated, and I was happy to see them engaging confidently in speaking activities. This session reminded me of the importance of creative techniques in improving students’ communication skills. At 4 p.m., the long bell rang, marking the end of the school day. As we left the school, I reflected that today was productive and helped me grow both as a classroom facilitator and as a learner. Each day of practice continues to boost my confidence and teaching skills.
DAY 7

Today, I reached the school at 9.00am and signed the morning attendance at 9.15 am. After settling down, I interacted with a few students and enquired about their academic progress. This gave me a better understanding of their need and current progress of their performance levels. I did not have any class in the morning session, so I used that time to observe the school environment and prepare for my upcoming classes. During the lunch break, two of my colleagues went to serve the noon meal to the students as part of the school's mid-day meal programme. It was nice to see how the students get nutritious meal from the school. After the session was over, we had our lunch and discussed the afternoon session. In the 6th period, following the instructions from the concerned teacher, I conducted a screening of three students for anchoring competition for their upcoming competition which is going to conduct as part of Gotech programme. As part of the Gotech class, it was interesting to observe how confidently some students volunteered and how others needed gentle encouragement. This activity helped me understand their speaking skills and stage confidence. In the 7th period, I had my regular class in 8C. I handled the lesson according to the lesson plan prepared earlier. The students were generally attentive, although there were soft murmurs from a few. However, I was able to manage the class and bring their focus back to the lesson. To ensure active participation, I randomly called students to read the text aloud. This helped maintain engagement and allowed me to assess their reading ability as well. By 4:00 pm, the long bell rang, followed by the National Anthem. With that, the school day came to an end and we dispersed. Overall, it was a productive day that gave me more confidence in classroom management, student interaction, and activities facilitating.
Day 8

The day began smoothly as I reached theschool at 9.00 am, After signing the morning attendance at 9:30 am, I prepared myself for day's responsibilities. During the third period, I entered for my regular and carried out the lesson according to the plan. In the fourth , the school organised an essay writing competition on the topic "After effects of plastic wastes:Era of ending pollution students actively participated and it was a meaningful activity. At 12.20pm, two of our friends went to serve the noon meal for the students. After the lunch break, I signed the afternoon attendance. During the 7th period, Teerdha and I went to take the Gotech class for 8A and 8B Students. We divided the class is to two groups and conducted an engaging activity. One student from each group had silently demonsleate a cooking scene, while the other group members described the cooking steps in English. The activity was fun and helped improve their speaking skills.It was indeed a nice experience. At 4pm long bell rang marking the end of the day, thus we left the school.
Day 9

Today I reached the school at 9.00 am and signed the morning attendance at 9.15 am. After settling down, I spent some time interacting with the students, asking about their academic progress. Since I did not have any classes in the morning session, I utilized the time to prepare my lesson plans and make necessary preparation for the afternoon class. During the lunch break Faculty and Sheerin went to serve the noon meal for the students. After they returned, we had our lunch together and discussed our classroom experiences and activities planned for the rest of the day. In 6th period, I handled my regular class in 8c. Anjana from Mathematics optional came to observe my class for peer observation. I followed the lesson plan carefully and tried to maintain a smooth flow throughout the session. The students were attentive and actively engaged. They took notes. whenever required, responded well to the questions posed and participated in reading activities. I randomly called students to read paragraphs from the text, which helped keep them alert and included. So today's experience gave me insights into areas where I can improve, especially in classroom control and pacing of activities. At last 4pm the long bell rang, followed by the National Anthem. With that the school day came to an end and we left the school with a sense of fulfillment.
Day 10

Today marked the 10th day of our teaching practice. I reached the school at 9.00 am and completed the morning attendance. The day began smoothly and as usual, I interacted briefly with a few students before classes started. During the third period, I was assigned a substitution class in 8C. I handled the class using the lesson plan I had prepared earlier. The students were attentive and I felt more confident in managing the class compared to the previous days. Their responses showed that they were gradually becoming familiar with my teaching style. At 12.20 pm, I assisted in serving the noon meal, which included rice, tapioca and fish curry. This experience, though simple, reminded me of the importance of teamwork among teachers. After serving the meal, I had my lunch along with colleagues. In the 6th period, I took my regular class for 8C. I focused on reinforcing the concepts taught in previous classes and encouraged students to ask questions. After the interval, during the 7th period, I again
received a substitution class in sc. I made good use of this unexpected period by giving them the required notes and clearing some doubts they had. The school dispersed at 4pm with the national anthem, marking the end of the day. Overall today was productive and helped me improve my classroom management skills. Handling multiple periods in the same class also gave me the chance to build better rapport with the students.
