SECOND PHASE WEEKLY REFLECTION
DAY 16
07-01-26
Today was the 16th day of my second phase of teaching practice at GHSS Cherunniyoor. After the Christmas vacation, we returned to school with renewed enthusiasm. I reached the school at 9:00 a.m. along with my fellow teacher trainees. As instructed by our college, we met the Headmistress and submitted the consent letter request. After that, we signed the morning attendance register. Following the morning prayer, the class teacher of 8C, Nimmy teacher, informed me to distribute the Christmas examination answer sheets to the students. Accordingly, during the first period, I went to class 8C and handed over the answer sheets. The students were visibly anxious and curious about their marks. After allowing them some time to go through their papers, I collected the answer sheets back and returned them to Nimmy teacher.
Lunch break began at 12:20 p.m. After the lunch break, we signed the afternoon attendance register. During this time, two of our friends volunteered to help serve the noon meal. In the afternoon, a PTA meeting was conducted for the high school section.
Later, during the seventh period, I engaged class 8C as per my lesson plan. The class went well, and the students participated actively, which gave me confidence and satisfaction as a trainee teacher. At 4:00 p.m., the long bell rang, marking the end of the school day. Thus, the day concluded smoothly, and I left the school feeling contented and motivated by the day’s experiences.
DAY 17
08-01-26
Today, I reached the school at 9:00 a.m. and signed the morning attendance register. After that, I went to Sandya teacher to collect her signature in my teaching practice record. During the first period, I was assigned a substitution period in class 8C, which helped me engage with the students and manage the class independently. In the afternoon, we signed the afternoon attendance register. Later, during the sixth period, I handled my regular class in 8C as per the lesson plan. The session was conducted smoothly, and the students responded positively. During the seventh period, Sandya teacher called me to assist in preparing a PowerPoint presentation for the GOTECH programme. I provided necessary suggestions and guided the students in organizing their content and improving their presentation skills. This experience was valuable as it allowed me to support students beyond regular classroom teaching. At 4:00 p.m., the long bell rang, marking the end of the school day. After completing the day’s activities, we left the school.
