LAST WEEK OF SECOND PHASE TEACHING PRACTICE

DAY 27
27-01-26

Today, I reached the school at 9:00 a.m. and signed the morning attendance. Soon after arriving, I received happy news that one of my students from Class 8C, Aiswarya, had won second prize in the Gotech anchoring competition. I felt extremely delighted and proud, as I had personally helped her prepare for the competition. This achievement gave me a sense of fulfilment and reinforced my belief in the importance of motivating and guiding students beyond the classroom.
During the morning session, I did not have any allotted teaching period. I utilized this time to observe the school environment and reflect on classroom practices and student engagement.
After the lunch break, we signed the afternoon attendance. In the fifth period, I was assigned a substitution class in 8C, where I handled the class based on my prepared lesson plan. The students were attentive, and the class progressed smoothly.
In the sixth period, I took my regular class in 8C. The students were initially quite noisy, but I managed the situation effectively using proper classroom management strategies. Gradually, the class became more disciplined, and the lesson was completed successfully. This experience helped me strengthen my confidence in handling challenging classroom situations.
At 4:00 p.m., the long bell rang, marking the end of the school day, and we left the school. Overall, the day was productive and rewarding, as it enhanced my teaching skills, classroom management abilities, and emotional connection with students.

DAY 28
28-01-26

Today, I reached the school at 9:15 a.m. and signed the morning attendance. It was a special and memorable day, as it marked the last day of our second phase of teaching practice at GHSS Cherunniyoor. The feeling was a mix of satisfaction, gratitude, and a little sadness as this phase had given me valuable teaching experiences.
During the second period, I went to observe the Social Science class handled by Anjali teacher in Class 8C. The teacher presented an innovative teaching model, which made the lesson very engaging. The students showed keen interest and actively participated. This observation helped me understand the importance of using creative teaching aids to make learning more effective and student-centred.
After the morning break, I handled my teaching session in Class 8C. I presented my innovative model to the students. They were curious and enthusiastic, and their active involvement made the class lively. At the end of the lesson, students shared their feedback, which was encouraging and motivating. Their responses helped me reflect on my strengths and areas where I can further improve my teaching methods.
During the fourth period, all the student-teachers who had teaching practice in 8C distributed laddoos to the students. This small gesture created a joyful atmosphere in the classroom and strengthened our bond with the learners. The students were happy, and it felt rewarding to end the teaching practice on such a pleasant note.
After this, we had our lunch and later signed the afternoon attendance. As the day came to an end, I reflected on the entire teaching practice phase. This experience helped me gain confidence, improve classroom management skills, and understand the importance of innovative teaching strategies. Overall, the day was meaningful and left me with lasting memories and valuable professional learning.
